Kristin Elizabeth Cavallari (born January 5, 1987) is an American television personality and actress. She is best known for her starring roles on the former MTV reality television programs Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin-off, The Hills. Cavallari was born in Denver, Colorado, the second of two children of Judith Spies (née Eifrig) and Dennis Cavallari.

When her mother divorced her father, her older brother, Mike, moved with their father to Laguna Beach, California, while she moved with her mother to the village of Barrington, Illinois, a suburb an hour northwest of Chicago. 

She attended Barrington Station Middle School, and graduated on to Barrington High School. After difficulties adjusting to a new life with a stepfather and stepbrother, Cavallari moved to California to live with her father. There, Cavallari was enrolled at Santa Margarita Catholic High School for her sophomore year. Under California law one can only file an annulment if there’s proof of impotency, incest, bigamy, unsound mind, force or fraud.

If an annulment is not granted then Kris wants a legal separation.

Sources close to Kris told TMZ he feels used in the relationship. Stating, “he was just slotted in the plot line of Kim Kardashian’s latest headline and newest business venture.”

Adding, “Once they were finished taping, she just didn’t need a groom anymore.”

The source’s position is in contrast to Kris’ original statement following Kim’s divorce announcement. “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce … I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work,” said Kris in late October. To further add to the confusion, Kris’ claim that he was blindsided is contradicted by Kim Kardashian’s recent revelation. Kim stated she and Kris discussed an annulment before filing for divorce but was advised by there was no legitimate grounds for annulment.

Kris’ claims of fraud further fuels the flame that the entire marriage was a lie from the start. Reports previously surfaced that Kim, E! network and Ryan Seacrest shopped around for a NBA player. On the other hand the Kardashian camp is hoping their story of Kris belittling Kim will stick.

“He belittled her in front of people. He’d call her stupid. It was truly sickening.”

The insider continued;

“He tried to control Kim by bringing her down…He would say truly terrible things. One time, he said she had no talent and her fame wouldn’t last.”

She was spotted Tuesday in West Hollywood with her 5.2 carat engagement ring back on. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant and Cutler called off their engagement in July, but the duo had been spotted together several times since packing on the PDA.

Cutler, 28, came out to support the former Hills star on DWTS before she was the third contestant on the show to get the boot.

At the time, Cavallari wouldn't confirm whether she invited her ex to watch her strut to Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" on the show. And of the cameras constantly panning to Cutler? "Well, I have nothing to do with that," she said. "I don't direct where the camera goes."

According to one insider, Cavallari was "blindsided" by the split this summer. "Jay dumped her out of nowhere."
